We are seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team at White Plains Hospital. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in administering radiation therapy treatment to patients with cancer.
Key Responsibilities- Administer radiation therapy treatment using advanced linear accelerators and software.
- Record and verify treatment plans to ensure accuracy and safety.
- Collaborate with radiation oncologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Monitor patient tolerance and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Adhere to hospital-wide customer service programs and maintain accurate patient records.
- Graduate of a committee of allied Health Education and Accreditation (AMA) accredited radiography program or equivalent.
- High School graduate or GED certificate required.
- Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or equivalent.
- Current NYS license in Radiologic Technology.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to speak, write, understand, and communicate in English language.
- Ability to work in coordination with peers to carry out accurate and effective treatment.
- Communication skills including ability to seek out support as needed.
- Judgment and decision-making skills including accuracy of treatment set up.
May be exposed to chemicals necessary to perform required tasks. Any hazardous chemicals the employee may be exposed to are listed in the hospital's SDS (Safety Data Sheet) data base and may be accessed through the hospital's Intranet site (Employee Tools/SDS Access). A copy of the SDS data base can also be found at the hospital switchboard, saved on a disc.
Use their hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Stand, walk, or run for extended periods of time. Bend or twist their body. Make quick, precise adjustments to machine controls. Move two or more limbs together (for example, two arms, two legs, or one leg and one arm) while remaining in place.
