Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly qualified Adjunct Faculty member to teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses to a diverse student population. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and delivering engaging and innovative coursework that reflects a commitment to student success and equity.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and teach Integrated Reading and Writing courses to a diverse student population.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback.
  • Provide teaching and mentoring services to students in a manner that does not discriminate based on protected categories.
  • Remain current in the field through professional development activities.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned by the department chair, dean, and/or associate vice president, vice president, executive vice president.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Reading or Developmental Education or Literacy, or
  • Master's Degree with 18 hours of Reading, Writing, or Combination or an MA in English with 3 hours of Reading and 3 hours of Writing.
Working Conditions:
  • Work is routinely performed in an office/classroom environment.
  • Subject to standing, walking, sitting, bending, reaching, kneeling, pushing, and pulling.
  • Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
  • Work safely and follow safety rules. Report unsafe working conditions and behavior. Take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.
