Pediatric Emergency Medicine Faculty Position

The Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Virginia is seeking highly motivated individuals to join our team as Assistant/Associate Professors of Pediatric Emergency Medicine. These tenure-ineligible positions will focus on clinical operations, with protected time to support scholarly pursuits based on a prior sustained record of achievement.
We are looking for candidates who value patient care and collaboration with colleagues. As leaders in pediatric emergency medicine, you will play a pivotal role in establishing and shaping our new division.
The Department has an established emergency medicine residency program and fellowships in various areas. Our pediatric population comes from a wide geographic area and has a high acuity level with a 15% admission rate. UVA Health is a quaternary referral center with complete pediatric subspecialty support and a very active pediatric trauma service.
As a faculty member, you will have opportunities to grow and develop as a clinician, educator, researcher, leader, and through administrative work on committees, boards, and panels. You will also have the chance to contribute to the academic and clinical mission of the Department.
Qualifications include an MD or DO and board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Emergency Medicine. Applicants with a background in pediatrics and emergency medicine will also be considered. We are looking for candidates with a record of excellence in clinical care, education, and/or research, and a passion for their work with strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
