We are seeking a highly qualified candidate to join our team as a faculty member in the Department of Pediatrics, Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology at the University of Virginia School of Medicine and UVA Health Children's. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic and collaborative environment, working with a team of clinicians, clinician-scientists, and staff dedicated to the wellness of children.

About the Position

This is a clinician or clinician-scientist track faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. The appointee will join our growing program, which is committed to providing cutting-edge care for children with cancer and blood disorders. The ideal candidate will have direct experience in the design and conduct of investigator-initiated clinical trials, as well as experience working with scientific teams in a "lab-to-bedside-to-lab" workflow.

Responsibilities
  • Design and conduct investigator-initiated clinical trials to improve health outcomes for children with cancer and blood disorders
  • Work with scientific teams in a "lab-to-bedside-to-lab" workflow to integrate clinical enterprise with research opportunities
  • Participate in diverse opportunities for clinic-translational research in partnership with our NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center
Requirements

Candidates must have at least an MD or DO degree and be board-certified/board-eligible in Hematology-Oncology. The successful candidate will demonstrate outstanding verbal and written communication skills, clinical excellence, curiosity, and interpersonal skills characterized by collegiality, humility, and a service-oriented mindset.
