Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly competent and dedicated Veterinary Surgical Assistant to join our team. As a Veterinary Surgical Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our board-certified surgeons and providing exceptional patient care.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, including preparing patients, maintaining asepsis, and monitoring anesthesia.
  • Perform technical tasks, such as placing IV catheters, drawing blood, and recovering patients from surgery.
  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot anesthesia safely.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure seamless patient care and efficient surgical procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing education and training to stay up-to-date on the latest surgical techniques and best practices.

Requirements:

  • 1+ years of surgical experience in a veterinary setting.
  • Highly competent technical skills, including ability to perform mathematical calculations for drug doses, CRIs, client invoices, and estimates.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to kindly and effectively interface with our team, clients, and referring veterinarians.
  • RVT, LVT, or equivalent experience, with willingness to train highly competent and kind team members to become surgical technicians.
