Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate a welcoming environment for patients and their families.
• Ensure compliance with procedural requirements, including data collection, insurance verification, and service authorizations.
• Manage collections for patient balances, ensuring financial accountability.
• Collaborate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, insurance companies, and third-party payers.
• Maintain a professional demeanor and exhibit strong communication skills.
• Demonstrate reliability, adaptability, and a commitment to teamwork.
• Utilize sound judgment to independently resolve customer inquiries and operational challenges.
• Mentor and assist in the development of junior team members.
Qualifications:
A. Education
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.
• An Associate Degree in a health or business-related field is preferred.
B. Skills
• In-depth knowledge of Patient Access operations and regulatory compliance.
• Exceptional organizational and communication abilities.
• Proven customer service expertise.
• Familiarity with process improvement methodologies.
• Ability to mentor and train colleagues effectively.
• Competence in following detailed instructions and performing repetitive tasks.
• Proficient in basic computer skills and office equipment.
• Experience with office automation tools, particularly Microsoft Office.
• Ability to analyze and interpret data accurately.
• Strong mathematical skills and understanding of basic medical terminology.
C. Experience
• Minimum of three years in hospital registration or a similar role.
D. Certifications
• Certification as a Healthcare Access Associate through the National Association of Healthcare Access Management (NAHAM) is required.
• AAHAM Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist-Institutional (CRCS-I) is preferred for certification pay eligibility.
