Medical Assistant

As a Medical Assistant - Intake LPN at New York Cancer & Blood Specialists, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our intake process. Your primary responsibility will be to provide exceptional patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities:
Float between NYCBS locations as needed to provide support to our patients and staff.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date electronic patient records, ensuring that all necessary information is recorded and easily accessible.
Record patient information, including vital signs, weight, and changes in medical history, to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.
Clean and prepare examination rooms to create a comfortable and welcoming environment for our patients.
Provide administrative support, including answering phone calls, greeting patients, and maintaining the medical inventory.
Assist in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed.
Measure and record vital signs, ensuring that our patients receive timely and accurate care.
Record patient interviews, history, and chief complaints to provide a comprehensive understanding of each patient's needs.
Provide patient education on medications, disease management, home treatments, and special diets to empower our patients to take control of their health.
Prepare patients for examinations and perform routine screening tests to ensure that our patients receive the best possible care.
Assist physicians with exams and provide support during procedures.
Conduct phlebotomy and collect other lab specimens to ensure that our patients receive timely and accurate test results.
Perform basic lab tests and EKGs to provide a comprehensive understanding of each patient's health.
Requirements:
Current NYS LPN license.
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Experience in a lead role or demonstrated potential to act in a lead capacity.
Demonstration of consistent professional conduct and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills with patients, staff, and other healthcare professionals.
Proficiency in ONCOemr.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Prolonged periods of standing, bending, and reaching.
Frequent exposure to chemicals, blood-borne pathogens, and patient bodily fluids.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
Travel to any of the NYCBS locations.
Benefits:
Salary up to $36 per hour.
