Inventory Controller

Restaurant Depot is seeking a highly skilled Inventory Controller to join our team. As an Inventory Controller, you will be responsible for maintaining the accuracy of our physical inventory, ensuring efficient operations in Inventory, Front End, Cash Room, and Receiving Departments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the accuracy of the physical inventory at the branch.
  • Use a scan gun and move merchandise as needed to obtain information.
  • Make decisions on pricing and ensure gross margins are maintained.
  • Communicate margin issues to buyers and follow up for a timely response.
  • Review sales price differential reports and make changes as needed.
  • Ensure cycle counts are conducted on a timely and regular basis.
  • Train all staff for inventory purposes and conduct semi-annual inventories.
  • Coordinate Inventory Control with Receiving, Perishables, Dry Goods Floor, and Front End to ensure accuracy.
  • Supervise Stock-taker and coordinate writing of adjustment vouchers to vendors.
  • Responsible for liquor and tobacco tax filings with governmental agencies.
  • Report shrink and research causes.
  • Control markdowns & voids by monitoring damages and overstock.
  • Analyze and determine reasons for negative inventory and margins.
  • Review store statistical reports for abnormal or erroneous data.
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in retail or wholesale.
  • Background in Physical Inventory maintenance/control.
  • Proven leadership skills; ability to supervise and direct employees.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts.
  • Must be PC literate; working knowledge of MS Office.
