Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Para-Educator to join our team at Fremont High School. As a Para-Educator, you will provide support to students with special needs, assisting them in achieving their academic and personal goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist students with disabilities in a classroom setting, providing individualized support and accommodations as needed.
  • Implement lesson plans and instructional strategies under the direction of the certificated teacher.
  • Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and parents to ensure a smooth and successful learning environment.
  • Monitor and maintain a safe and respectful classroom environment, adhering to all safety protocols and procedures.
  • Assist with data collection and record-keeping, ensuring accurate and timely reporting of student progress.
  • Participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge.
Requirements
  • Meet the Highly Qualified requirement of No Child Left Behind.
  • One year of experience working with children of various age levels in a classroom setting, preferably with students with physical needs.
  • Possess and maintain a valid First Aid Certificate and CPR Certificate.
  • Willingness to complete at least 15 hours of additional training as required to perform the duties of the job.
Working Conditions

The Para-Educator will work in a fast-paced classroom environment, with frequent interruptions and potential contact with blood and other body fluids. The ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds is required, as well as the ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time.
