Compensation: Starting rate $30.96

Job Overview:

Provides direct nursing care in environments where patients require intricate assessments and interventions, adhering to established policies, procedures, and protocols of the healthcare organization.

Responsibilities and Qualifications:

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Gathers comprehensive data relevant to the patient from the patient, family, and other healthcare professionals to create a holistic understanding of the patient's needs or condition.
  • Analyzes and synthesizes assessment data to determine diagnoses or conditions pertinent to care.
  • Collaborates with the patient, family, and interprofessional team to identify optimal outcomes.
  • Develops a plan that outlines strategies and alternatives to achieve outcomes, utilizing clinical judgment in partnership with the patient, family, and interprofessional care team.
  • Executes the plan, employing strategies to foster and maintain a safe environment, coordinating implementation with the patient, family, and interprofessional team.
  • Assesses processes and progress towards achieving goals and outcomes.
  • Contributes to the quality and effectiveness of nursing practice, evaluates personal practice, and maintains current knowledge and competence.
  • Communicates effectively across all areas of practice, collaborating with the patient, family, and interprofessional team.
  • Utilizes clinical inquiry and integrates best evidence into practice.
  • Applies the existing body of evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge in healthcare to critical care nursing practice, ensuring that nursing care is tailored to the patient's age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
  • Maintains a constant state of alertness and safe practice.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.

EDUCATION

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program or equivalent education for licensing.

EXPERIENCE

  • No prior experience required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Constant verbal communication to share information.
  • Continuous standing and walking.
  • Frequent lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 0-25 lbs.
  • Regular sitting, reaching, and data entry.
  • Frequent visual acuity for near (20 inches or less) and far (20 feet or more) distances and color differentiation.
  • Frequent olfactory recognition.
  • Regular auditory communication to receive verbal information and detect alarms.
  • Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
  • Occasional patient handling.
  • Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping, and repetitive movements.
  • Occasional driving.
  • Rare crawling and running.

REQUIRED PROFESSIONAL LICENSE AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
