Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) is a vital member of our team at Kelberman Center, providing exceptional care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. As an LPN, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality nursing care, collaborating with our multidisciplinary team, and promoting a culture of excellence and compassion.
Key Responsibilities- Provide direct care to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities, including administering medications, performing medical procedures, and monitoring vital signs.
- Collaborate with our interdisciplinary team, including RNs, therapists, and support staff, to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Conduct thorough assessments of individuals' physical and emotional needs, identifying areas for improvement and developing strategies for enhancement.
- Develop and maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to stay current on best practices and emerging trends in autism care.
- Contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting a culture of respect, empathy, and compassion.
- A.A.S. degree or equivalent in nursing or a related field.
- Valid NYS licensure as a Licensed Practical Nurse and current NYS registration certificate.
- Basic computer skills, including proficiency in Windows, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
The LPN will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to provide exceptional care and support to individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, communicate clearly and compassionately, and maintain a high level of professionalism and integrity.
Physical DemandsThe LPN will be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods, with frequent bending, twisting, and lifting of up to 50 pounds. The ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods and to lift 60 pounds is also required.
