Position Overview

Job Summary

The Radiologic Imaging Specialist is responsible for conducting fundamental radiographic examinations. This role emphasizes the application of radiation safety protocols to ensure high-quality imaging results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts radiologic examinations as per physician directives.
  • Performs standard imaging procedures in line with departmental protocols.
  • Reviews requisitions for physician annotations and specific guidelines.
  • Collaborates with radiologists or physicians as required.
  • Determines appropriate radiation exposure based on patient characteristics.
  • Operates imaging equipment according to the requirements of each examination.
  • Assists in the maintenance of comprehensive patient documentation.

Physical Demands

This position requires significant physical activity, including walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, and bending. The candidate must be capable of lifting and supporting up to 75 pounds when handling patients and medical apparatus. An intact sense of sight, hearing, smell, touch, and manual dexterity is essential. The ability to focus and respond promptly to changes in patient and clinical conditions is also necessary.

Qualifications

A High School Diploma or GED is required. Successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program is mandatory. Current registration with ARRT (or eligibility) is essential. A minimum of one year of experience is preferred.
