The Business Financial Advisor is responsible for establishing new business banking relationships and enhancing the cross-selling of services to existing clients within a designated portfolio, typically serving customers with annual revenues below $25 Million. The focus of the Business Financial Advisor is to increase deposits, loans, and fee income in a sustainable and profitable manner.
Key Responsibilities
- Engages in the business development initiatives of the organization.
- Identifies suitable prospects within targeted markets, generally with annual revenues under $25 Million, develops and maintains an effective prospect list, and undertakes activities to drive growth in loan, deposit, and fee income portfolios.
- Serves prospects and clients through a consultative selling approach, acting as a trusted advisor to help them identify and address business opportunities and challenges, while assisting them in achieving their objectives and maximizing our effectiveness.
- Collaborates with and refers clients to other departments within the organization, such as Retail, Private Banking, and Treasury Management, to identify additional relevant products and services.
- Participates in the assessment and documentation of credit applications.
- Engages in discussions with bank management, the Small Business Loan Center, the credit department, industry specialists, and other stakeholders to share insights and gather diverse perspectives.
- Contributes to the management of a loan portfolio.
- Monitors the portfolio for credit quality, recognizing and reporting early warning signs of potential credit issues to minimize risk and maintain appropriate risk ratings on all loans.
- Assists the organization in achieving favorable CRA metrics by collaborating with bank-level, regional, or CRA Officers.
- Completes the annual E-Learning Plan and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) training as assigned, ensuring up-to-date knowledge of BSA as it pertains to the role.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field is preferred.
- 2+ years of experience in banking, with a preference for lending experience.
- General understanding of business tax returns, profit and loss statements, business cash flow, and personal financial statements is required.
- Solid understanding of credit documentation and credit risk.
- Basic knowledge of loan, deposit, and Treasury Management products.
- Proven track record in sales and business development.

The targeted salary for this role is:
$75,000 - $97,802.00
In addition, you may be eligible for incentive compensation and benefits, which may include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), Health Savings Account, and Paid Time Off. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, work experience, education, and skills of the selected candidate.
