The Application Robotics Engineer will provide technical expertise for robotic applications to ensure product quality and continuous improvement to the manufacturing processes.
The position is responsible for troubleshooting robotic systems, performing preventative and predictive maintenance on systems to minimize downtime, while keeping safety as a priority.
The position will also provide training and technical support to Production and Skilled Trade Team members.
Your Responsibilities- Participate in Line or project sourcing, including rfi/rfq creations and alignment during sourcing process
- Identify and perform continuous improvement activities to improve safety, increase productivity and reduce production cost, by development and improvement of electrical control systems
- Fanuc DCS Certification required. Robo Guide Simulation for project and program support
- Capital Management (Robots, weld controllers, lasers, turn tables, rtu) both launch and plant level.
- Experience with AutoCAD, CAD viewer programs.
- Familiarity with Engineering and Quality practices and procedures including PPAP, blueprint reading, GD&T, use of measuring instruments, checking aids/fixtures, mechanical testing, etc.
- Experience/knowledge in robotic programming for welding processes (Fanuc programming an asset).
- Familiarity with electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment.
- Knowledge of GM weld standards and specifications.
- Knowledge of AWS and RWMA standards.
- Ability to prepare, read, write, and interpret written reports, procedures, instructions, and guidelines.
- Ability to analyze and troubleshoot equipment, processes, etc.
- Able to appreciate and maintain proper level of confidentiality, using discretion and tact.
- Ability to travel to all integrators
