Position Summary
To deliver exceptional and efficient healthcare services to patients at Middlesex Health.
Key Responsibilities
Under general supervision:
- Employs evidence-based medical practices.
- Timely evaluation of patients.
- Meets the standards set by the Hospital Quality Alliance National Reported Measures.
- Addresses all relevant medical and social issues daily, including the primary reason for admission and other significant active concerns.
- Maintains effective communication with Primary Care Physicians, Nursing staff, Case Management, and colleagues.
- Completes comprehensive daily progress notes that are clear, concise, and informative.
- Documents family meetings and discussions, including topics such as code status.
- Prepares detailed admission notes and discharge summaries.
- Provides appropriate oversight and availability to mid-level practitioners.
- Serves as a competent preceptor and role model for residents.
- Available to residents for inquiries and patient care matters.
- Upholds all Core Values (Compassion, Pursue Excellence, Cooperation and Collaboration, Upholds Honesty, and Supports Innovation).
- Complies with all Absolutes (Privacy and Confidentiality, Professional Appearance, and Responsibility and Commitment).
Additional Responsibilities
Other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- M.D. or D.O. licensed in the state of Connecticut.
- Medical staff privileges at Middlesex Hospital as a Hospitalist.
- Adheres to all MH Medical staff bylaws for the maintenance of MH privileges.
- Board certification (or eligibility within two years of employment) in Emergency Medicine, Family Practice, or Internal Medicine.
