Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Associate Manufacturing Engineer to join our team in Dallas, TX. As a key member of our Transfusion Medicine Division, you will be responsible for conducting research, directing daily activities, and implementing quality systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement and maintain the effectiveness of the quality system, understanding and consistently following documented procedures.
  • Execute assigned tasks, utilizing technical and theoretical understanding of several techniques to complete assigned tasks.
  • Develop and implement procedures (Test Procedures and Process Work Instructions).
  • Apply quantitative methods, analyze data, evaluate results, form conclusions, and provide/implement process or document improvements.
  • Troubleshoot instrumentation or experiments.
  • Utilize technical literature to expand technical and theoretical understanding.
  • Apply basic computer skills, including word processing, spreadsheets, instrumentation-related, and Abbott network systems.
  • Produce reports and documents utilizing writing skills.
  • Knowledge of analytical instrumentation.
  • Recognize and assist with the resolution of technical problems.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations of project results to own or other groups.
  • Share knowledge and expertise with others in the work unit.
  • Participate in planning project tasks, preparing and aligning goals with manager's goals.
  • Influence decision-making through negotiation, addressing conflict, and building productive working relationships within a team.
  • Participate in technology teams, interpreting experimental results, drawing conclusions, and recommending options for next steps.
  • Plan time to accomplish tasks, conduct experiments according to plan, and maintain appropriate documentation.
  • Establish and use appropriate metrics to measure progress toward meeting quality standards.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in a life or physical science, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Some related experience.
  • Knowledge of regulations and standards affecting IVDs and Biologics.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical or Biomedical Engineering, preferred.
  • Masters degree preferred.
  • Manufacturing engineering experience (e.g., developing instructions for building of product, etc.) from a manufacturing company.
  • Experience with SolidWorks, DFA (Design for Assembly), or any other CAD system, CATIA, etc.
