Registered Nurse 2 or 3 TB Clinic Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse 2 or 3 to join our team at the Georgia Department of Public Health. As a key member of our team, you will provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols and procedures, focusing on the prevention of illness, injury, or disability, and the promotion of health and maintenance of the health of populations.
Key Responsibilities- Provides professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols and procedures.
- Cares for populations with special needs during disasters/emergencies and biological and chemical protocols.
- Provides case management and follow-up of all known TB clients to ensure timely and appropriate treatment.
- Collaborates with local physicians, hospitals, substance abuse centers, correctional facilities, and community organizations to promote TB education and ensure continuity of care.
- Adheres to HIPAA regulations.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia license to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse AND CPR certification OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND One year of PHN experience AND completion of a PHN course within one year of hire AND current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license AND CPR certification.
- Preferred Qualifications: A Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Professional experience in public health nursing, Experience in the specialized area of assignment, Excellent communication and customer service skills, Some public health and infectious disease experience is helpful, The ability to translate English to Spanish and Spanish to English orally and written.
This position does not require a lot of physical exertion. May require some lifting, but no more than 50 lbs. Not always a sedentary position; will require some walking to/from and in/out of chair. It does require the flexibility of working in various areas of the clinic when necessary and some outreach. Confidentiality and precise data entry is a must. Punctuality and assigned work schedule.
