Albany Medical Center is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse Practitioner to join our team in the Anesthesiology Department. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and management of acute pain services.
Key Responsibilities- Manage daily operations of the inpatient acute pain service, including performing consultations, coordinating with interdisciplinary services, and educating residents, students, and nurses.
- Develop and implement customized individual analgesic regimens for complex patients with multiple co-morbidities, substance abuse histories, psychiatric disorders, and chronic pain conditions.
- Conduct patient assessments, complete physical examinations, collect clinical data, and order and interpret medical laboratory test results.
- Administer medications or treatments and perform minor surgery as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient coding for effective billing, complete patient medical reports, and manage inventory of medical supplies and instruments.
- Serve as a resource and team leader during clinical shifts to ensure smooth patient processing, treatment, and discharge.
- Master's Degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program.
- Ability to quickly master computerized medical recordkeeping and billing systems.
- Professional image and excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written skills.
- HIPAA compliance at all times.
- NP - Nurse Practitioner licensure upon hire.
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification upon hire.
- BCLS - Basic Life Support certification upon hire.
This role requires standing, walking, sitting, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions. Eye/Hand/Foot coordination is also required.
