The Machinist plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process, ensuring precision and quality in the production of components. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can effectively manage multiple tasks while adhering to safety protocols.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of daily operations and job-related data.
- Alert supervisors to any issues regarding products, machinery, or programming.
- Operate and program CNC machinery efficiently.
- Utilize Gibbs Cam or Surfcam for programming tasks.
- Examine setup sheets and technical specifications for accuracy.
- Ensure the proper maintenance of cutting tools.
- Design and fabricate necessary fixtures for production.
- Employ precision measurement tools to guarantee quality standards.
- Set up and operate various machine tools as required.
- Assemble and disassemble molds as part of the production process.
- Perform grinding, filing, and sanding on components to achieve desired finishes.
- Utilize overhead cranes safely and effectively.
- Adhere to all safety regulations and guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Preferred experience of one to two years in a similar role.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize workload.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Experience with elastomeric materials is a plus.
- Physical Requirements:
- Regularly required to walk, use hands, reach, talk, and hear.
- Frequently required to stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Must be capable of lifting various weights.
- Specific vision abilities are necessary for this role.
- Ability to remain on feet for extended periods is essential.
