GENESYS Health Alliance is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Bryan County Jail. As a correctional nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and treatment to detainees in a correctional setting.
Key Responsibilities- Administer routine and emergency medical care to detainees, including blood pressure checks, glucose monitoring, and nebulizer treatments.
- Ensure all referrals for consultation, treatment, or resolution of problems are valid and applicable to the documented nursing plans.
- Administer ordered medications to inmates as directed by a licensed medical provider and document administration as required by GENESYS HEALTH policy/procedure.
- Carry out nursing care plans on inmates as prescribed or directed by ALP, Physician, and/or RN.
- Ensure security of area and medications while administration is occurring, and prioritize patient safety.
- Complete initial and ongoing screening on detained individuals upon admission into a correctional setting.
- Explain procedures and treatment protocols to patients.
- Graduation from a nationally accredited licensed practical nursing program.
- Current LPN licensure in the state of employment or ability to obtain license.
- Current Basic Life Support certification.
- Ability to obtain a security clearance, including a drug screen and criminal background check.
