Job Title: Laboratory Assistant

Yoh is seeking a skilled Laboratory Assistant to join our team in the Life Sciences Industry. This is a 3-month contract with the possibility of being converted to a permanent position.

Job Summary:

We are looking for a detail-oriented and organized individual to assist our laboratory professionals in performing various routine laboratory functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for sorting and receiving specimens, performing instrument maintenance, and recording data.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sorting and receiving specimens in the department
  • Performing routine instrument maintenance on equipment
  • Recording data, including temperature charts and specimen storage
  • Preparing reagents and media in the department
  • Preparing specimens for testing, including building worklists and allocating specimens
  • Performing QA/QC duties as assigned
  • Resolving pending lists and finding missing samples
  • Decontaminating work areas and performing weekly radioactive wipe tests
  • Maintaining files for department records and changing gas cylinders
  • Following all PPE requirements and safety regulations
  • Using the laboratory computer system and operating PCs
  • Disposing of biohazardous material and completing training and competency checklists
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Medical assistant training is helpful, with math and science courses preferred
  • Ability to establish work priorities and handle multiple tasks efficiently
  • Ability to retain information once learned and interact with coworkers and customers with courtesy and respect

Estimated Min Rate: $14.53
Estimated Max Rate: $20.75
