Job Description:

Overview of the Role:

This Registered Nurse I position is located at Northern Light Maine Coast Hospital's Intensive Care Unit (ICU). As a member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide high-quality patient care and contribute to creating a positive work environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide safe and effective patient care by using best practices during hand off communication and when reporting patient care information and appropriately asking for assistance from other staff.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in location, operation, and care of equipment.
  • Perform and document systematic assessments according to established criteria.
  • Recognize and respond to abnormal diagnostic data and report to appropriate provider.
  • Develop and maintain a professional and personable relationship and appearance with patients/families and staff.
  • Treat patients with courtesy and respect.
  • Utilize theoretical knowledge base to operationalize care.
  • Documentation is accurate and complete reflecting adherence to hospital, regulatory and legal requirements.
  • Complete population-specific mandatory education competencies as defined by the unit specific scope of service.
  • Provides culturally competent care to patients and families.
  • Provides patient-centered care.
Requirements:

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • A current RN license in the State of Maine or eligibility for licensure in the state.
  • BLS certification prior to independently caring for patients and kept current.
  • ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications within 6 months of hire.
  • The ability to lift, move, and load 30-50 pounds.
  • Alternate shift schedules (day, evening, nights, weekends).
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $83,000 - $105,000 per year, as well as benefits such as comprehensive health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
