Job Title: Orthopedic Casting Technician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Orthopedic Casting Technician to join our team at OrthoAlaska LLC. As an Orthopedic Casting Technician, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care and assisting our orthopedic physicians with casting, splinting, and other medical devices.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply and remove plaster and synthetic casts
  • Fabricate splints and manage other simple medical technology
  • Teach patients to use walking aids such as canes and crutches
  • Inform patients about the risks of treatment
  • Document patient care administered
  • Monitor and order casting, clinical, DME, and patient supplies
  • Clean and autoclave instruments
  • Orient and provide on-the-job training to resident physicians and staff

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Preferred experience as a Medical Assistant or orthopedic technology certificate or related associate's degree
  • Knowledge of health care field and medical office protocols/procedures
  • Knowledge of specific assisting tasks related to particular medical practice
  • Knowledge of sterile technique and of orthopedic supplies
