Preschool Teacher Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Preschool Teacher to join our team at the YMCA of Greater Boston. As a Preschool Teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds of young children and helping them develop essential skills for future success.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
  • Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate curriculum that fosters children's development.
  • Provide differentiated instruction to meet the individual needs of children in the classroom.
  • Conduct child assessments and provide feedback and recommendations to parents and caregivers.
  • Lead by example and help interpret the YMCA character values of children, staff, and families.
  • Use positive and constructive methods of behavior management and ensure that all staff do the same.
  • Supervise children to ensure safety and appropriate behavior and guide transitions smoothly.
  • Collaborate with the co-teacher in the design of the classroom space and ensure that materials are ready for use and put away at the end of the day.
Requirements:
  • You are detail-oriented and possess excellent organizational skills.
  • You are mission-driven and committed to carrying out the mission and goals of the YMCA.
  • You are a people person with good human relations skills to facilitate positive relationships with community agencies, staff, families, and program participants.
  • You love working with kids and enjoy creating amazing educational experiences to help them learn and grow.
  • You are at least 21 years old and meet the requirements for the Department of Early Education and Care.
  • You must have a certification from EEC.
  • You will become First Aid and CPR certified within the first six months of employment.
  • You will obtain Child Abuse Prevention Training, Bloodborne Pathogen Training, and Sexual Harassment Training within the first 60 days of employment.
