About the Job

We're seeking an exceptional Software Engineer to join our sensor data and calibration team. As a key member of our team, you'll work on designing and implementing advanced map systems for our current and future robots. With your expertise in state estimation and mapping, you'll contribute to enhancing our navigation capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • You'll conduct research and development on state-of-the-art online state estimation and calibration algorithms, leveraging both traditional and machine learning methods.
  • You'll analyze and optimize the performance of state estimation algorithms, ensuring accurate map creation from diverse data sources.
  • You'll develop and deploy well-tested C++ software on our robotic platforms and simulate environments.
  • You'll provide critical insights into sensor data and autonomy performance.
  • You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to define map requirements and ensure seamless integration.

Requirements

  • You must possess a PhD and/or Masters Degree in computer science, electrical engineering, robotics, or a related field.
  • You should have extensive knowledge of state estimation, SLAM, probabilistic filtering, and 3D geometry.
  • You should have hands-on experience developing mapping algorithms using sensors like IMU, lidar, camera, GPS, etc., and sensor fusion.
  • You should have at least four years of industry experience as a software engineer.
  • You should have solid C/C++ programming skills and experience developing safety-critical software.
  • You should have direct experience developing sensor fusion or state estimation algorithms for autonomous vehicles, drones, or similar applications.

Bonus Skills

  • Experience working with mapping data like satellite imagery, lidar point clouds, and standard definition maps.
  • Proficiency in Python.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning pipelines and/or machine learning for perception and/or mapping.

Compensation Package

The base salary for this position ranges from $167,200 to $250,800. Additionally, you'll be eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package.
