Staff Assistant Position at Duke University

The Staff Assistant role is an exciting opportunity to provide instructional and administrative support to multiple faculty members at Duke University.

  • This position is responsible for providing exceptional support to faculty in their research, teaching, and publication activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide instructional support to faculty, including downloading, editing, and formatting course materials, scanning documents, and proofreading scanned documents for accuracy.
  • Assist with administrative tasks, such as arranging appointments, preparing necessary documents, making travel arrangements, and managing faculty funding sources.
  • Conduct research using various resources, including the Law library, Westlaw, Lexis, and Internet resources.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of three years of related secretarial/clerical experience or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office 2016 and ability to learn new programs quickly.
  • Strong organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication, and ability to work under deadline pressure.
