Job Summary
Price Benowitz, LLP is seeking a full-time Nurse Paralegal to support our medical malpractice team at our Washington, D.C. headquarters. The successful candidate will assist attorneys in obtaining, evaluating, and summarizing medical records, preparing medical chronologies, and managing a large caseload.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Obtain, review, analyze, and summarize medical records and other pertinent medical and legal documents related to medical facts within the case.
- Prepare medical summaries and chronologies to support attorney review.
- Research, evaluate, and retain medical experts to provide expert testimony.
- Coordinate appointments, including all correspondence and logistics necessary, and maintain up-to-date calendars for all involved parties.
- Support attorneys during trial by preparing documents, fact-checking, preparing evidence for presentation, and tracking case developments.
- Additional duties as required.
- RN, LPN, or comparable nursing experience (required).
- 3+ years of paralegal and/or legal assistant experience.
- Proficiency in computer technology used in an office environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with lawyers, executives, and clients.
- Initiative, critical thinking mindset, and problem-solving skills.
