About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Custodian I to join our team at the University of Iowa. As a Custodian I, you will play a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our student residence halls.

Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and sanitize restrooms, including floors, walls, and fixtures
  • Perform floor work, including vacuuming, sweeping, and extracting
  • Clean and sanitize horizontal and vertical surfaces, including glass, walls, and light fixtures
  • Complete student work orders, including bed configurations
Work Environment

You will work in a fast-paced environment with varying temperatures and noise levels. You will be required to lift up to 50 pounds regularly and use commercial cleaning equipment.

Requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions
  • Ability to communicate effectively and follow oral and written instructions
  • Experience working in a physically demanding position
  • Ability to use commercial cleaning equipment
