Job Title: Phlebotomy Technician I

The University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics Department of Nursing is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to perform phlebotomy/specimen collection and various laboratory tasks related to phlebotomy, labeling specimens, telephone inquiries, and distribution of phlebotomy supplies.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform phlebotomy draws
  • Perform computer data entry and other clerical tasks as required
  • Order, receive, and distribute supplies
  • Respond to basic phlebotomy inquiries and represent assigned and related work areas
Requirements:
  • High school graduation or equivalent
  • Previous public contact/customer service experience
  • Desirable qualifications include completion of a phlebotomy training program or previous phlebotomy experience, minimum six (6) months previous experience working in a healthcare setting, basic computer skills, previous experience with Personal Protective Equipment, and previous patient contact experience
