Position Summary

The Staff Accountant supports the Corporate Controller and Vice President of Finance by preparing, processing, and maintaining documentation for various accounting transactions. This role is accountable for conducting accounting analysis and reconciliations in accordance with US GAAP, maintaining financial reports, processing journal entries, and generating various reports for multiple service locations. The Staff Accountant is adept at managing accounting and general ledger accounts, prioritizing multiple tasks, communicating effectively in an independent manner, and contributing successfully as part of a remote work team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile and analyze monthly account information and activity to prepare and record asset, liability, revenue, and expense journal entries related to multiple service locations.
  • Execute month-end, quarter-end, and annual close procedures along with financial reporting.
  • Conduct monthly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations for various service locations.
  • Facilitate external financial audits by creating support schedules and gathering necessary documentation.
  • Provide ad-hoc explanations for expense variances based on transaction data.
  • Assist in process enhancements and centralization within the accounting/finance department.
  • Foster and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders of the Company.

Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of standard financial reports and GAAP principles.
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in spreadsheet applications.
  • Effective communication skills with all levels of employees, vendors, and clients.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and prioritization abilities.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is required.
  • CPA certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years in accounting roles with progressive responsibilities.
