We are seeking a highly skilled Data Center Operations Manager to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our infrastructure services team, you will be responsible for managing and developing teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise, and ensuring the highest levels of performance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and develop teams of engineers, providing technical and leadership expertise.
  • Maintain existing data centers and help build and bring online new data centers.
  • Constantly improve all processes and procedures to optimize operational excellence.
  • Assist and manage relationships with external vendors and contractors.
  • Liaise with internal teams and management groups.
  • Ensure adherence to and exceed local health and safety standards in all data centers.
  • Create and maintain metrics on all aspects of data centers and utilize those metrics to drive positive changes.
  • Assist in implementing service methodologies, including incident management, problem management, change management, capacity management, etc.

Basic Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of professional or military experience in an IT-related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing people in a technical environment in an on-call rotation and providing after-hours support in an environment that operates 24/7.
  • 2+ years of experience with networking or computer hardware.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2+ years of previous data center management experience.
  • Effective communication and decision-making skills.
  • Behavioral interviewing and hiring experience.
  • Formal project management certifications (Prince2, PMP, AGILE).
  • Experience or knowledge of AWS products: EC2, EBS, S3, and infrastructure and system redundancy (Power feeds, ATS, Server Hardware, RAID, Network Connectivity).
