Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented Certified Medication Aide to join our team at Highland Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will be responsible for preparing, administering, and observing medications, as well as taking and recording vital signs.

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately prepare, administer, and document medications as prescribed by the physician.
  • Take and record vital signs for residents.
  • Count and sign medication administration records for controlled drugs.
  • Safely lift, move, and transfer residents as needed.
  • Report any unusual or abnormal resident behavior to the Charge Nurse.
  • Follow safety guidelines and report any equipment needing service or repair.
  • Participate in emergency fire drills and other in-service training as scheduled.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience in long-term care preferred.
  • Completed and passed a state-approved Medication Aide Course.
  • Current medication aide permit from the Texas Department of Health.
  • Good standing on the Nurse Aide Registry and Nurse Assistant Misconduct Registry.
  • Current Certified Nurse Assistant Certification in Texas.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written instructions in English.
  • Ability to speak clearly and hear well enough to communicate with residents.

Salary Range:

  • $50,000 - $70,000 per year, based on experience.
