Job Title: Environmental Services Manager

At Advocate Health, we are seeking an experienced Environmental Services Manager to lead our EVS team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for our environmental services department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the EVS department, including environmental services, patient transport, and linen distribution.
  • Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and quality of service.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention practices, regulatory requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Lead and manage a team of EVS staff, including interviewing, selecting, and developing employees.
  • Develop and manage budgets, including operating and capital expenditures.
Requirements:
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental services, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with experience in team management and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of staff and leadership.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn new software systems.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
Working Conditions:
  • Physically able to walk for up to 35% of each workday, as well as sit, walk, lift, squat, and bend.
  • Must be able to occasionally push/pull up to 500 lbs. with mechanical assistance and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs. when moving equipment or furniture.
  • May be exposed to dust and dirt, as well as chemical and radiation hazards.
