Maintenance Trades Professional

VCU's Facilities Management Department is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Trades Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance, repairs, and installations of building infrastructure to ensure efficient operation of our facilities.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize knowledge of the trades to perform routine maintenance, repairs, and installations of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry-related tasks.
- Provide exceptional customer service to faculty, staff, and students, ensuring a positive experience and supporting the University's mission.
- Identify and document system deficiencies using diagnostic tools and advise management of tasks requiring priority attention.
- Provide quality workmanship and service to maximize system availability and minimize unscheduled downtime.
- 28 days of annual paid leave (University leave)

- Ability to repair and service a wide variety of building infrastructure components
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing to supervision, other employees, and customers
- Ability to read/interpret drawings, plans, specifications, and scopes
- Ability to use a wide variety of hand tools and power equipment
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
- Valid State of Virginia Driver's License
- Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment
- EPA Universal Refrigerant Certification
