Job Summary

As a Box Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting and delivering products and materials in liquid, loose, or packaged form. This role requires a high level of safety awareness and compliance with all established HSSE policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a box truck to pick up and deliver customer freight in a variety of locations.
  • Conduct thorough pre-trip, mid-trip, and post-trip inspections on vehicles being operated, in accordance with established company policies and procedures.
  • Load and unload trucks and containers, lift materials, and identify, label, count, receive, and issue freight.
  • Ensure that cargo is secured for transport in accordance with all applicable local, state, and federal laws.
  • Prioritize and complete day-to-day activities as assigned.
  • Maintain good housekeeping standards with focus on the care and custody of materials.
  • May be required to perform emergency roadside repairs such as changing tires, light bulbs, and tire chains.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Two to three years driving experience required.
  • CDL Class B required.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Excellent written, verbal, and listening communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
  • Customer-focused and able to represent Carlile in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Experience with lift gates, forklifts, and pallet jacks.
  • Previous material handling and HAZMAT experience.
Working Environment

This role requires frequent work in outside weather conditions, including extreme cold and inclement conditions. The employee may be exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and vehicle vibration.
