Job Summary:
The Laboratory Support Specialist is responsible for executing a variety of tasks within the laboratory environment, adhering to established protocols and guidelines. Duties may vary based on departmental needs and priorities.

Responsibilities:
1. Core Duties:
- Perform phlebotomy, specimen processing, and transport in accordance with established procedures.
- Assist in various laboratory departments including Anatomical Pathology, Blood Bank, and Microbiology.
- Ensure accurate patient identification and specimen labeling.

2. Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional service to patients and healthcare staff, responding to inquiries with professionalism and courtesy.

3. Quality Assurance:
- Maintain high standards of accuracy and efficiency in all laboratory tasks.
- Participate in quality control measures and adhere to safety protocols.

4. Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively within a team, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive work environment.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Medical Assisting or Phlebotomy certification preferred.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work under pressure.
- Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and safety.

Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform manual tasks and handle laboratory equipment safely.
- Must be able to lift and transport supplies as needed.
