Position Overview

Compensation includes a potential company bonus of up to $500 and a state bonus of $1000 after a probationary period.

Starting pay is $13 per hour, commensurate with experience.

We are in search of a dynamic individual who is passionate about nurturing and educating young children, specifically those aged one to three years. This role involves engaging with children through interactive activities and fostering positive relationships. Responsibilities include adhering to individual schedules, ensuring adequate supplies, and aiding in the development of essential skills.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Educational Planning: Design and execute both long-term and short-term activities aligned with curriculum goals and developmental appropriateness.
  2. Child Interaction: Treat children with kindness and respect, guiding them by:
    • Establishing clear and simple rules
    • Engaging in meaningful conversations
    • Modeling positive behavior
    • Teaching conflict resolution and the importance of apologies
    • Encouraging a growth mindset regarding mistakes
    • Recognizing and praising positive behavior
    • Providing clear choices to children
  3. Parent Communication: Maintain open and professional communication with parents on a daily basis.
  4. Leadership: Demonstrate the ability to lead the program effectively, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
  5. Collaboration: Support management and adhere to best practices as outlined by regulatory standards.
  6. Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records including attendance, daily logs, emergency contacts, and incident reports.
  7. Preparation: Ensure that lesson plans are organized and ready for substitute teachers.
  8. Fairness: Treat all children equitably without humiliation or exclusion.
Team Dynamics
  1. Encourage collaboration among assistant teachers in lesson planning.
  2. Provide mentorship to assistants to prepare them for leadership roles.
  3. Maintain effective communication with all staff members.
  4. Foster a positive work environment through respectful interactions.
  5. Be open to constructive feedback and maintain a positive demeanor.
  6. Contribute to a supportive atmosphere by being helpful and sharing resources.
  7. Communicate directly and avoid gossip.
Administrative Duties
  1. Attendance: Exhibit reliability by being punctual and providing notice for absences.
  2. Professionalism: Perform duties with care, using positive language and actions towards children, parents, and colleagues.
  3. Nurturing Environment: Be supportive and caring towards all children.
  4. Customer Service: Approach interactions with parents courteously and helpfully.
  5. Responsibility: Take ownership of job duties and be adaptable to various assignments.
  6. Composure: Remain calm and collected in challenging situations.
  7. Positive Attitude: Uphold a constructive outlook in all circumstances.
  8. Policy Adherence: Follow established policies and procedures diligently.
