Vascular Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at ChristianaCare. As a Vascular Technologist, you will be responsible for performing all phases of noninvasive peripheral vascular testing, working closely with our interpreting vascular physicians to ensure accurate and timely results.
Key Responsibilities- Perform all diagnostic vascular procedures, including ultrasound imaging, treadmill testing, and pulse volume recordings.
- Operate all vascular equipment, including ultrasound machines and other diagnostic tools.
- Review patient charts to verify physician orders and obtain pertinent clinical history.
- Recognize characteristic changes related to age spans and chronic disease.
- Establish which procedures are appropriate for diagnosis and which are contraindicated for specific symptoms and test values.
- Differentiate user-created artifact from patient pathology.
- Explain tests to patients and answer any questions they may have, maintaining professional ethics and confidentiality.
- Evaluate studies for technical quality and utilize all necessary accessories to perform procedures.
- Properly identify films and participate in the Quality Assurance Program.
- Develop and update policy and procedures, and pursue ongoing continuing education.
- Display actions in accordance with ChristianaCare's Mission Statement and Core Values.
- Perform assigned work safely, adhering to established departmental safety rules and policies.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and consistently use two patient identifiers.
- Complete all mandatory education and perform other related duties as required.
- Graduate of an AMA-approved program in ultrasound or other allied health profession.
- Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) credential or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
- Basic Cardiac Life Support Certification.
This position is based at Christiana Hospital, with occasional coverage at Wilmington Hospital and Middletown's ED. The work environment is fast-paced and dynamic, requiring strong communication and teamwork skills.
