Position Overview:

As a key member of our team, you will oversee the production workflow and strive to achieve or surpass production targets.

Your role will encompass driving sales, maintaining cleanliness, managing product displays, ensuring accurate cash handling, and preventing losses, all while adhering to the standards set by Goodwill-West Texas.

You will play a crucial role in delivering an exceptional customer experience at all points of interaction, including the donation area, sales floor, and checkout. Additionally, you will be responsible for secure operations during store opening and closing hours, ensuring a safe and organized work environment while promoting established guidelines and procedures. Collaborating with the Manager, you will supervise and facilitate training opportunities for team members.

Qualifications and Skills:

Knowledge:
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team.
  • Skill in addressing the needs of employees with barriers or disabilities with sensitivity.
  • Effective communication skills with colleagues and donors.
  • Proficiency in operating necessary equipment for job functions.
  • Capability to accurately manage and balance point-of-sale and tagging systems.
  • Ability to handle goods throughout the donation processing area.
  • Physical stamina to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Flexibility to perform tasks that ensure continuous operations.
  • Willingness to work varied hours as needed.
  • Valid Texas driver's license is required.
Responsibilities:
  • Ensure every customer receives outstanding service by fostering a welcoming environment. Greet and acknowledge customers while addressing their needs. (E)
  • Lead the team in providing an exceptional customer experience at all service points. (E)
  • Graciously accept donations, express gratitude to each donor, and provide receipts. (E)
  • Effectively manage all aspects of the donation process to ensure a seamless flow of quality contributions. (E)
  • Organize and display merchandise to uphold store aesthetics and cleanliness. (E)
  • Accurately and efficiently process all sales transactions, including discounts and donations, while training staff to do the same. (E)
  • Navigate and troubleshoot relevant databases such as POS and tagging systems. (E)
  • Understand and promote Goodwill's mission programs, ensuring staff is trained on related processes. (E)
  • Continuously monitor and improve process flows for donated and new goods. (E)
  • Exhibit solid knowledge of products and the value of donated items. (E)
  • Lead the team in conducting regular safety inspections. (E)
  • Maintain security protocols regarding financial transactions and facility safety. (E)
  • Accurately maintain records and track performance goals. (E)
  • Assist with store layout changes and maintain merchandising standards. (E)
  • Monitor inventory levels and replenish merchandise as necessary. (E)
  • Adhere to and enforce all company policies and procedures, including pricing and loss prevention strategies. (E)
  • Make informed decisions in various situations, including emergencies and operational challenges. (E)
  • Communicate positively and effectively with coworkers and stakeholders. (E)
  • Coach and mentor new team members while providing ongoing training.
  • Monitor and report on staff productivity and scheduling issues to the Manager. (E)
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
