We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Cardio Diagnostic Technician to join our team at Houston Methodist. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for performing electrocardiograms (EKGs) and Holter monitor exams, processing and transmitting data, and collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and timely results.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic EKGs and Holter monitor exams, ensuring precise placement of electrodes for accurate data.
- Provide care for patients during exams, educating them on electrode care and monitoring unit requirements.
- Assist physicians and healthcare team members during diagnostic exams.
- Review EKG tracings for quality and accuracy, identifying changes or abnormalities and taking corrective action as needed.
- Ensure all patient care equipment is in safe working order, reporting malfunctions and performing preventive maintenance procedures.
- Document patient procedures accurately and enter charges as applicable.
- High School Diploma or equivalent education.
- None to six months of basic EKG and/or Holter monitor experience preferred.
- Certified EKG Technician (NHA) or equivalent certification within 18 months.
- Basic Life Support (AHA) certification.
