Position Overview:

The Deli Service Associate plays a vital role in maintaining the quality and presentation of the deli department. This position involves ensuring that all prepared foods and deli offerings meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and customer satisfaction.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Welcome and assist customers in selecting deli products.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, utilizing knowledge to offer solutions that align with customer needs.
  • Prepare, slice, and package deli items in accordance with established quality standards.
  • Manage multiple orders efficiently while upholding service and quality expectations.
  • Support the deli service counter operations.
  • Maintain product quality standards to align with departmental goals.
  • Meet productivity benchmarks as outlined by management.
  • Enhance product knowledge across various deli categories.
  • Conduct cleaning tasks as per company guidelines.
  • Assist in training new team members and perform additional duties as required.

Qualifications:
  • Experience in deli, restaurant, or food service is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and sales abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Willingness to learn various tasks and technical aspects of the role.
  • Capability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
  • Must fulfill minimum age requirements.
  • Physical capability to meet job demands, with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Completion of Deli Service Case Associate training is a prerequisite.

Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent lifting of up to 15 lbs and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to reach shoulder height while lifting 20 lbs frequently and overhead occasionally.
  • Push/pull weights ranging from 3-15 lbs frequently and up to 40 lbs occasionally.
  • Perform repetitive hand and arm motions while standing or walking for the majority of the shift.
  • Meet departmental volume activity standards.
  • Engage in frequent bending, reaching, and lifting of products at or above waist level.
  • Utilize hands for operating controls, handling objects, and cleaning tasks.
  • Handle various substances related to cleaning and food products.
  • Tolerate working in varying temperature conditions for short durations.
