Job Title: Lead Cybersecurity Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Cybersecurity Specialist to join our team at Criterion Systems. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for providing expert-level guidance and support to our government customers in the areas of cybersecurity and IT security compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support security in the system engineering process, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) tasks, security assessments, and audits.
  • Provide on-going recommendations for mitigation of all threats and risks affecting the MARAD environment.
  • Assist in the mitigation/remediation process, following corrective action plans approved by MARAD leadership.
  • Support continuous monitoring process, assessing and evaluating MARAD Information System inventory to detect vulnerabilities.
  • Provide support in tracking and ongoing evaluation of weakness, vulnerabilities in DOT's Security Tool suite or other detection reports.
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship and ability to obtain a public trust.
  • At least 8 years of total information system and network security experience.
  • At least 6 years of experience with the federal government creating and maintaining IT Authorization to Operate (ATO) packages and RMF documentation.
  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field or 4 years of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
  • Ability to go onsite in DC 2 times a week.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in maritime/vessel cybersecurity.
  • Understanding of IT governance and management in the federal sector.
  • Expert-level knowledge of Federal Cybersecurity and Privacy Laws, Regulations, Policies, Procedures, and implementation standards.
