Key Responsibilities
  • Process, cut, and wrap deli items to meet customer demands
  • Maintain the back stock and cooler area in a well-organized manner
  • Packaging food products and ensuring proper presentation
  • Cooking hot meals and preparing food items according to recipes
  • Following recipes and accurately measuring ingredients
  • Maintaining good communication with store management, associates, and suppliers/vendors
  • Maintaining cleanliness of the store and store upkeep
  • Ensuring proper handling, stocking, rotating, and merchandising of deli items
  • Checking product temperature to ensure freshness and quality
  • Operating pallet jack, scissor lift, baler, compactor, and scrub machine
  • Unpacking and stocking deli and sushi items
  • Cleaning and sanitizing work areas
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred
  • Must be 18 or older to use sharp knives, use ladders, scaffolds, or their substitutes, substitutes above 6 feet in height, and to operate or assist in operating power-driven machinery or equipment
  • Must be able to use job-related equipment such as slicer, scale, saw, knife, and wrapper
  • No experience required, but a minimum of 1-2 years of work experience in a similar work environment is preferred
  • Previous experience as a Line Cook, Prep Cook, or Deli Clerk experience is preferred
  • Possess a CA Food Handling license or the ability to acquire one
  • Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds without aid
Working Conditions

Exposure to potential hazards exists with respect to equipment and work aides necessary to perform job duties. Hands are in frequent contact with water, vegetables, deli, and sushi meat while performing job duties.
