Compensation: $20 per hour.
Key Responsibilities:
The Preschool Teacher will primarily serve as a direct service provider within the TCDC team. Your effectiveness will be evaluated based on individual child and classroom outcomes, achievement of personal goals, and contributions to the overall program and organizational culture.
- Tailor direct services to meet the unique needs of each child while adhering to the established curriculum and collaborating with fellow staff members.
- Address the physical, cognitive, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the children.
- Prepare necessary materials in advance to effectively implement daily educational plans.
- Utilize strategies that promote cognitive development and ensure each child is adequately prepared for future academic success.
- Coordinate evaluations by specialists and assist in the implementation of services for preschool children with special needs.
- Collaborate with behavior modification counselors to develop positive behavior treatment plans.
- Supervise Teaching Assistants assigned to the classroom.
- Ensure the overall quality of the classroom environment, focusing on cleanliness, maintenance, and availability of supplies.
- Maintain accurate and timely records of each child's progress.
- Contribute regularly to the center's communication forms.
Qualifications:
To be considered for this role, candidates should possess:
- An Associate's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, along with two years of experience working with children aged birth to five years.
- A Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field is preferred.
- Training in Sudden Infant Death Syndrome, familiarity with Environmental Rating Scales, and knowledge of regulations from the Division of Child Development and Early Education are advantageous.
