Job Summary:

The Assistant Maintenance Manager will work closely with the Maintenance Manager to oversee the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department at Cuisine Solutions. This role is responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the department, minimizing breakdowns, and implementing effective preventive/predictive maintenance programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Department Coordination: Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Maintenance Department, ensuring that all tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that adequate inventories of critical components are available at all times, minimizing downtime and reducing the risk of equipment failure.
  • Continuous Improvement: Plan and execute activities aimed at providing continuous improvement in the company's manufacturing practices, including the development and implementation of new processes and procedures.
  • Facilities and Equipment Management: Work with other departments to plan and execute modifications to, or the addition of, facilities and/or equipment, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption to production.
  • Quality Control: Inspect the work performed by others to ensure conformance to standards, drawings, or blueprints, taking corrective action where necessary.
  • Subcontracted Services: Determine the needs and feasibility of subcontracted services, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Staff Development: Maintain a skilled maintenance staff by providing training and direction as needed, ensuring that all employees have the skills and knowledge required to perform their duties effectively.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as may be required by management, ensuring that the department operates efficiently and effectively.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 2 years' experience in facilities management, including electrical, plumbing, heating, ventilating, and air conditioning.
  • Education: BS in Engineering or related degree, or related work experience plus 2 years of experience in maintenance.
  • Language: Requires ability to communicate in English fluently - reading, writing, and verbally. Ability to communicate in Spanish is required.
  • Skills: Strong attention to detail, highly organized, excellent listening and interpersonal skills, and computer skills commensurate with position responsibilities.
