Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class A CDL driver to join our team as a Ferrous Scrap Metal Hauler. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing timely, efficient, and safe transportation of ferrous scrap metal to our processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a tractor trailer to transport ferrous scrap metal to our facilities
  • Perform daily pre- and post-trip inspections of the vehicle
  • Learn the geography of the assigned route and surrounding areas
  • Clean up spills and overflows, and return boxes to their proper area
  • Effectively communicate with dispatch and route supervisors, both orally and in writing
  • Report all accidents, injuries, or maintenance issues in a timely manner
  • Observe and comply with all applicable federal, state, and local jobsite health and safety regulations, rules, policies, and procedures
  • Take initiative, self-manage time and productivity through multitasking
  • Maintain collaborative working relationships with coworkers and customers
  • Think independently and creatively to solve problems
  • Contribute to the team dynamic by promoting inclusion, support, and collaboration amongst coworkers
  • Proactively establish trust and credibility with coworkers by maintaining accountability
  • Maintain a positive attitude with coworkers and customers
  • Comply with DOT rules and regulations (i.e. DOT physicals, random drug testing, etc.) in order to maintain Class A CDL
Requirements
  • Class A CDL, current and valid commercial driver's license, and DOT medical card
  • 1+ year of roll-off and/or semi-tractor driving experience
  • Basic truck mechanics and parts experience
  • Able to routinely perform physical tasks (i.e. lifting and moving materials, cleaning boxes, opening heavy roll-off box doors, etc.)
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in the scrap metal industry preferred
  • Principles of scrap metal recycling collection preferred
  • Semi-dump trailer experience preferred
