Job Summary:

As a key member of the Avera team, the Activities Coordinator Assistant plays a vital role in planning, developing, and operating department activities related to resident care. This position requires a high level of organization, communication, and teamwork skills to ensure the success of these activities.

Responsibilities:
  • Coordinate volunteer activities to enhance resident engagement and satisfaction.
  • Assist with facility promotions to increase visibility and attract new residents.
  • Supervise activities to ensure they are safe, enjoyable, and meet the needs of residents.
  • Help with resident assessments to identify their interests and preferences.
  • Assist staff with transporting residents to events throughout the day.
  • Drive the facility van for resident appointments as needed.

Requirements:
  • High School diploma required.
  • Previous experience in healthcare preferred but not required.
  • Must complete BLS and certified nurse aide training within 6 months of hire.
