Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to support our Enterprise IT Program. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing technical expertise and guidance to network planners, assisting with network planning for contingencies, exercises, and operations, and creating tools and playbooks to automate configuration processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide planning and engineering guidance to network planners
  • Assist with network planning for contingencies, exercises, and operations
  • Create, design, or script tools and playbooks to automate configuration processes
  • Provide detailed planning of network changes to support emerging requirements
  • Review, edit, publish, and maintain documentation and diagrams of engineering and design activities in agreed-upon and accepted industry standard format
  • Identify and recommend tools and processes to accomplish enterprise NetOps tasks
  • Provide design and architectural recommendations for long-term/chronic problem resolution
  • Assist with immediate and emergency troubleshooting and problem resolution as required
  • Maintain currency in applicable industry standards from bodies such as the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics
  • Some positions may require shift work and/or an ability to work a non-standard work schedule to support the mission
Requirements
  • BS 5-7 Years, MS 3-5, PhD 0-2. Bachelor's Degree in a related field. Significant relevant experience will be considered in lieu of formal education.
  • DoD TS clearance or higher is required
  • At least 5 years of related experience in support of a DoD enterprise level IT program
  • Ability to focus on engineering from a performance optimization perspective
  • Expertise in a systems or application programming language (e.g., Java, C++)
  • Expertise in web-based frameworks (e.g., Java Enterprise Edition (JEE),.NET, JavaScript, jQuery)
  • Knowledge of data structures and relational database systems relevant to candidates work area (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, PostGres)
  • Working knowledge of network and information exchange technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, RESTful, SOAP, HTTP)
  • Expertise with system engineering processes and techniques
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills
  • Strong technical writing skills
  • DoD M IAT II AND MCSE related to candidate's work area OR VMware Certified Professional (VCP) OR Microsoft Certified Expert related to candidate's work area OR Nutanix Certified Advanced Professional OR Microsoft 365 Certified Enterprise Administration Expert certifications required

Target Salary Range

$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
