Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Refrigeration/Boiler Technician to join our team at Smithfield Foods. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing routine audits and equipment inspections, conducting repairs, and ensuring the safe operation of our refrigeration and boiler systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine audits and equipment inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with safety regulations
  • Conduct repairs and maintenance on refrigeration and boiler systems, including troubleshooting and resolving complex problems
  • Work collaboratively with other maintenance personnel to plan and conduct equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Develop and implement maintenance plans to prevent equipment failures and reduce downtime
  • Ensure all work is performed in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to company policies and procedures
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • 1+ years of experience in industrial maintenance or a related field; RETA certification a plus
  • Comprehensive knowledge of refrigeration and boiler systems, including ammonia refrigeration, engine and boiler systems, and electrical and motor controls
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills and ability to work with maintenance software
