Position Overview
The Nursing Aide Trainee (NAT) role is designed to equip trainees with the necessary skills to successfully complete the nursing assistant competency examination. Candidates must be actively enrolled in a Minnesota Department of Health-approved nursing assistant training program at the time of employment. Following the completion of the training, the NAT will be required to pass the competency examination within four months of employment, after which they may apply for available Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) positions within the facility of their choice. Trainees are permitted three attempts to pass both the written and practical components of the exam. Should they fail to pass after three attempts, a new training program must be undertaken. As a NAT, you will perform many responsibilities of a certified nursing assistant (CNA) as deemed competent through the completion of at least 16 hours of training in essential areas.
Requirements:
- Active enrollment in a Minnesota Department of Health-approved Nursing Assistant program - Completion of 16 hours of supervised practical training.
- Proficient in speaking, reading, and writing in English.
